Our Demands

City Council Actions

  • Decriminalize sex work, drug posession and use, and other “nusiance” crimes.

  • Pass a City resolution urging the end of cash bail in Dauphin County.

Data/Transparency

  • Require the Harrisburg Police Department to post public documents and department statistics on a website in an easy-to-access way instead of hiding behind the RTK process.

  • Require the Harrisburg Police Department to collect racial and other demographic data on stops, arrests, and charges and post publicly on a website in an easy to access manner.

2021 Budget

  • Freeze all hiring for the Harrisburg Police Department.

  • Cut the Harrisburg Police Department budget and reinvest those funds into community services.

  • Prioritize cuts to Harrisburg Police Department budget when making cuts due to the economic impact of COVID-19.

  • Remove city funding and incentives for placing police in Harrisburg schools.

Campaign Contributions/FOP

  • Publically demand that the FOP police union contract be reopened to renegotiate early.

  • Require political candidates in Harrisburg to disclose donations from the FOP.
